About Money

Fees

All our team are independent private practitioners so receive no government funding. Each has his/her own fees policies. Normally these are in the $90-$140 range per session. If this is unaffordable, some therapists have a little room to negotiate or may offer advice on alternatives. Please do contact a therapist and have a chat. We will do our best to find a way to meet your needs or to suggest alternatives.

Length of treatment

Every client and every therapist is different. Early in the therapy, it is important for both you and your therapist to gain a shared understanding of the issues the client wants to address and the general treatment approach suggested by the therapist. This assessment may take one or more sessions, following which therapist and client can develop a plan together.

Therapy is not a one-off thing. Anyone considering entering therapy needs to be thinking of an initial commitment of at least six sessions.

Session frequency

There is normally one session per week. Regular sessions are especially important at the start of therapy, so both you and your therapist can get to know each other. Appointments are normally 50-60 minutes in length.

Special funding

There are a variety of options if you cannot afford the full cost of private practice. See Special funding
