About Me : Kia ora, I’m Trina, a registered psychotherapist based in Milford, Auckland. I believe therapy is about having a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you make sense of what’s going on in your life. When things feel uncertain or overwhelming, it can help to have someone alongside you—you don’t have to figure it out alone.

My Approach : Everyone comes to therapy for their own reasons. You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what’s next. Maybe something isn’t sitting right, even if you can’t quite put your finger on it. Whatever brings you to therapy, we follow your way forward—together.

I know that reaching out, or finding the right therapist can feel like a big step. It’s important that you feel comfortable, safe, and understood. I offer a space where you can bring whatever is on your mind, without judgment or pressure. Therapy is a collaborative process, where we gently explore what’s happening for you at your own pace, in a way that makes sense for you.

My approach is relational, integrative, and psychodynamic, with a focus on the mind-body connection—because our emotions don’t just exist in our minds; they live in our bodies too. Feeling truly seen and understood can be a powerful part of healing, and I offer gentle guidance and reflection to help you find clarity in a way that feels supportive.

Some of the ways we might work together:
• Exploring patterns in your relationships and sense of self
• Noticing what your body holds and how it speaks through sensation, tension, or emotion
• Understanding how past experiences might be shaping what’s happening now
• Creating space for emotions that have felt too much, too little, or just out of reach
• Finding more ease, connection, and clarity in your life

My experience spans both private and public healthcare settings, including time in Auckland Hospital’s Immunology department, where I supported clients living with chronic—sometimes life-threatening—illnesses. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years immersed in business, creativity, parenthood, and endurance sports—all of which have shaped my understanding of the challenges we navigate as humans. These experiences help me bring a grounded, compassionate approach to my work.

As a registered psychotherapist with PBANZ, I’m committed to upholding their ethical standards. I take part in regular supervision, ongoing education, and peer-supported development to keep my skills fresh and my work effective. I’m also a member of the Association of Psychotherapists of Aotearoa New Zealand (APANZ).
