Psychological health is not merely the absence of symptoms, it is the positive presence of inner capabilities and resources that allow people to live with a greater sense of freedom and possibility - Jonathan Shedler

Client Types : Adults

Therapy Services and Approach : I welcome adults of all ages, cultures, backgrounds, genders and sexualities and offer psychodynamic psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and comfortable environment.

I have experience working with a variety of concerns including:

  • anxiety (social and general)
  • depression
  • low self-esteem
  • relationship issues
  • PTSD, trauma and abuse (physical, sexual, psychological)

Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on the psychological roots of emotional suffering. It’s goals are a growth in self-awareness and understanding of how the past influences the present, not just to alleviate the obvious symptoms but to help people lead healthier lives. This is facilitated by identifying unhelpful patterns and examining the most important relationships and experiences in your life.

Research has found that psychodynamic psychotherapy is effective for personality and somatic disorders, anxiety, depression, complex and/or chronic mental distress, and that the benefits not only endure after therapy ends, but increase over time.
