NB : I am only taking on new clients for online therapy at this stage (no face-to-face appointments).
Experience and specialisms: I warmly welcome people with any type of issues. Common issues that the people I see struggle with include stress/anxiety, depression, emotional difficulties, social/relationship issues, abuse, change/transition issues, traumas, physical or mental distress, unhealthy behaviours, identity crisis, lack of self-esteem, amongst many others.
I also see people with mind-body conditions, namely physical illness that is unconsciously originated by psychological issues. I have seen this manifest as skin conditions, digestive issues, women health problems, chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, respiratory issues, chronic fatigue, psychosomatic illnesses, amongst others.
Additionally, I work alot with trauma, including childhood trauma, PTSD and CPTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder).
I am also a certified Havening practitioner (an emerging science-based technique for trauma recovery). I also work extensively in the areas of personal growth, conscious/healthy relationships, spirituality, existential issues, integration of body-mind-spirit, and connection with self, others and the world.
Approach and modalities: I hold a person-centred approach, empowering the person’s strengths and talents and working through their difficulties, in a safe, kind, empathetic, respectful and private environment. I support the person in transcending their suffering, traumas, obstacles, conditionings and/or negative patterns/beliefs, so that they can tap into their inner strength, happiness, peace and harmony. This can involve psychoanalysis, behavioural work, emotional work, self-development work, psychoeducation, etc.
My approach includes elements of psychodynamic, psychosynthesis, psychosomatic, transpersonal, relational and yoga psychotherapies, and combines the sciences of Western psychologies with the wisdom of the Eastern traditions, to support the holistic healing of the individual. Additionally, I apply specific tools (e.g. Havening, Yoga) when appropriate.
Typically psychotherapy consists of weekly sessions (50min each).Within this, I can offer long-term, mid-term or short-term therapy, depending on the person’s needs.
Client groups: I support adults of all ages, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, religions, belief systems, backgrounds, experiences, and ways of living. Everyone can expect to be accepted and honoured for exactly who they are.
Professional memberships: I am a Registered Psychotherapist (PBANZ) and member of New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists (NZAP).
Fee: Standard fee of $120 per session.
Location: Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre, 14 Mills Lane, Albany, Auckland
