I offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples. I provide a space to talk and explore your experiences and concerns in a safe and confidential manner. My aim is to assist people to work through emotional difficulties, improve relationships and develop positive change.
Experience: I have worked for several private and government organisations with over 15 years in the mental health sector. I now work solely in private practice seeing individuals, couples, groups (including The Gaming Clinic) and writing on topics of interest. Through collaboration, I aim to support a process of self-discovery and growth so that your inner and outer life can take on a more meaningful shape.
Special Interests: I work with a broad range of issues, with both individuals and couples. I specialise in:
Approach: My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate. Psychotherapy is a mutual process where a therapist acts as a pilot for navigating what is brought by the client. Within this stance, I can help further understand and address the concerns that led you here, likely in search of some relief from the way you are currently feeling.
I work from a psychodynamic psychotherapy base. I also utilise Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and draw on theories of development and attachment. I believe effective psychotherapy needs to be tailored to the individual and address all sources of health.
Professional Memberships: I am a registered Psychotherapist (PBANZ). I am ACC Registered for sensitive claims.
Location: Howick.
Fees: Individual and couples $150. ACC funding may be available for sensitive claims. EAP provider.
