I offer both short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy for adults.
Therapy offers a safe space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening and find new ways forward. As a relational psychodynamic therapist, I provide a gentle, and supportive space where you are welcome exactly as you are, with all that you carry. Together, we can explore new ways of relating to yourself, your life, and the challenges you face- supporting your well-being.
Self-awareness is often the key to change and healing. Therefore, my aim is to build a therapeutic relationship where you can reflect on your past and present experiences and come to know yourself more fully. This happens through gentle and thoughtful inquiry into your feelings, thoughts, behaviours, and bodily experiences. I have a holistic approach to therapy and welcome the spiritual dimension of your experience, if that feels meaningful for you.
I often draw on mindfulness and body awareness to help you connect with different parts of your experience. By staying curious about what’s happening in the body during our sessions, we can make painful emotions and traumatic memories more accessible, understandable, and easier to hold.
I have experience working with adults and young people facing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, as well as identity and relationship changes and challenges. I am experienced with clients learning to live with their ADHD and/or Autism diagnosis.
Alongside my professional training and clinical experience, my work is also shaped by my personal journey. Having immigrated from Finland and navigated the challenges of leaving an unhealthy religious group, I understand how life transitions can profoundly impact identity, wellbeing, and belonging.
It takes courage to reach out for help -but know that you don’t have to navigate everything on your own. With support, even overwhelming experiences can become a source of growth, meaning, and new direction in life.
