NB: My practice is currently full, so unfortunately I cannot take on new clients at this time.
Sometimes it’s difficult to know how to move forward, how to
cope with losses and how to find meaning in the challenges put in
front of us. You may
feel unsupported, confused and overwhelmed due to relationship
difficulties, health issues, impact of trauma or stress.
You and
I can work together towards restoring a sense of orientation,
clarity and stability in your life. Identifying and naming issues
which may have been out of awareness often provides an immediate
benefit by reducing shame about lifelong areas of internal conflict
and difficulties in relationships. For most people though true
growth and healing comes from a slower, more thorough exploration of
the issues that have been discovered.
About me
I was born and grew up in Germany. Migration to New Zealand was the major turning point in my life. While I began my new career in the health professions doing bodywork, coming into contact with my client’s trauma led me on to studying counselling and psychotherapy at AUT. I graduated in 1997 and since then have worked in specialist refugee trauma services in Auckland and Australia, in mental health as well as private practice for the past 10 years. I practice both in English and German. The strength of my experience is that I work well with a wide range of clients from diverse cultural, ethnic and religious background.
