Areas of Interest

I work with a range of issues, including negotiating life changes, stress & anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, sexuality, and feeling stuck in life. I have a particular interest in working with ADHD and navigating the challenges and stress of immigration.

What is psychotherapy, and how does it work?

Psychotherapy can help: explore your current and past emotions, relationships, conscious and unconscious patterns that might be holding you back or getting in the way of living a fulfilling life.

Psychotherapy can also increase self-awareness. The benefits of increased self-awareness could be, finding purpose and meaning in your life, improving self-esteem, developing the capacity to better understand & manage stress, and maintaining meaningful relationships.

I offer both long term and short-term psychotherapy. I offer a non-judgemental, empathic approach that is unique to each client’s individual needs.

In sessions, I encourage you to speak freely. When you feel ready, I welcome you to bring your needs, wishes, fears, dreams, even art/creative writing (if you want to) into the session so we can work together to help you find your voice to express yourself, to heal past hurt, get some relief from your current struggles and find meaning in your experiences.

I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, which involves creating a safe space for you to come for weekly 50-minute sessions. In these sessions, we will process together what gets between you and your capacity to thrive in life.

Psychotherapy is a kind of conversation about what is happening for you in your life. We will look at what has happened in the past and what is going on at present in your home, work, and within relationships.

We pay close attention to these areas to understand and gain insight into how they influence how you think about yourself and your relationships, how you deal (or struggle to deal) with challenges in life and how you can use these insights to develop an increased capacity to be self-aware and thrive.
