My Approach : Change can be very difficult, whether we’re trying to make change in our lives, or whether our lives are changing within and around us. It’s even more difficult if we or those we care for are struggling or suffering.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy can provide time, space, and safety to understand what we need to heal and flourish. Understanding offers a place to rest and recover, to see where we’ve come from and where we’re going. Understanding shared with another person can be a powerful and effective step towards wellbeing.

Psychotherapy is just one of many ways to help your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. If you feel it may help you then please do reach out to talk.

My Background : I have been curious about human nature for as long as I can remember. Our minds, thoughts, feelings, and souls are endlessly complex, often beautiful, at times terrifying. My curiosity has led me to study literature, philosophy, religion, history, psychology and psychotherapy. I have been engaged with individual and group psychotherapeutic practices for many years.

In addition to my practice, I currently work as a TA and Guest Lecturer for the Psychotherapy Department at AUT. My current research explores media, the internet, and the application of online psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am happy to offer online sessions where it is suitable.

My past experience includes:

  • Working as a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) in Ōtara, Counties Manukau. The HIP role is based in primary care clinics – i.e. medical GP clinics – and aims to offer brief interventions to whaiora seeking support with managing a wide range of physical and mental health concerns.
  • Working as an AOD clinician at Papa Taumata / Higher Ground, a residential addiction treatment centre. Because addiction affects people from all walks of life, I have experience working with clients of many different identities, cultures, communities, and nationalities.
