Psychotherapy Services : I offer short and long term psychotherapy for individuals and couples and view therapy as a collaborative relationship in which to understand and address the problems that are impacting your life. The privilege of journeying alongside clients for over a decade at Hospice has given me a strong understanding in ways of guiding people through grief and loss, bereavement, existential concerns and finding meaning in life, and living with life limiting-illness. I am genuine, responsive and bring a thoughtful presence to reflect together on what is causing distress or preventing well-being.

My approach is informed by relational psychodynamic psychotherapy which makes sense of how past experiences influence current issues. Patterns can be recognised that were originally developed to deal with difficult experiences, but which are now contributing to unfulfilling repetitive cycles. In a quiet place of safety, trust and acceptance, the therapeutic relationship offers a way to use painful experiences for growth and to develop inner resources and resilience. Other modalities I find effective are Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, CBT and DBT.

Issues Covered : I see people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. I have experience with loss and grief, depression, anxiety, relationship and intimacy difficulties, dissociation, OCD, trauma, and facing into death and dying.
