"We are all just walking each other home" - Ram Dass
I am a psychotherapist working predominantly with younger adults (18 - mid 30's) on a wide range of issues. I build supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationships and help people reduce distress, deepen self-understanding, strengthen relationships and discover new and more fulfilling ways of being themselves in the world.
Client Types : Adults (18-35).
Approach : Life can be challenging. At times, we can feel overwhelmed, lost, anxious, depressed, lonely – other times we might experience something painful and unexpected that really throws us off balance. Whether it’s for a short time or a long time, it can be profoundly helpful to have someone empathic, curious and honest to talk to about what you are experiencing.
Relational psychotherapy provides the space to explore past experiences, process painful feelings and discover new and more fulfilling ways of being. The therapeutic relationship also provides a meaningful human connection, offering you a new way to work through emotional and relational difficulties with another person. I draw from diverse relational theories and together we would try to make sense of and respond to what is unfolding in each session and in your life. Over time, therapy supports deeper understanding and connection, leading to a greater sense of wellbeing and agency in your life.
I am from Aotearoa New Zealand, but spent my twenties travelling the world and living overseas before moving back to pursue further study. Tāmaki Makaurau is now my home. I have multi-generational roots in Mohua/Goldenbay and my ancestry is English/Irish/Scottish.
