I assist people from all walks of life overcome obstacles and barriers preventing them from achieving happier, healthier, and more productive lives; whether this involves resolving a specific problem or learning more about yourself and others to manage your lives more effectively and maximise your potential.

Experience : Originally from Zimbabwe, my background is in the allied medical professions (orthotist and prosthetist). Thereafter, I ran my own recruitment and human resources consultancy firm for 20 years before moving to Auckland where I have worked as a psychotherapist in private practice for the past 13 years.

Specialisms : I am passionate about working with adults who are hungry for personal growth and development through increased insight and understanding. The areas I work in include anxiety and depression, trauma and abuse, unsatisfying or destructive relationships, sexuality and gender identity, life crisis, grief and loss, anger, and issues relating to a lack of confidence and self-worth.

I have experience working with individuals facing a range of personality disorders and mental health challenges including bipolar, dissociative disorders, and adult ADHD.

Approach : My approach is professional yet personal. The primary modality I use is psychodynamic psychotherapy which explores how our early/past experiences influence the way we make sense and meaning of our lives in the present.

To complement this approach, I also draw from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), Jungian, and Gestalt psychotherapy wherever appropriate to suit the needs of the individual.

Professional Memberships : I am a registered psychotherapist with the Psychotherapy Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ) and a Full Member of the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists (NZAP).

Fee : Individuals: $170+GST per session (55 minutes)
