Background : I have worked in private practice and in public mental health services for over 30 years with adults, teenagers, children, and families.

My training was competed in the UK. I continue to study at postgraduate level in Aotearoa, NZ. I am a lecturer in psychotherapy, and supervisor at Auckland University of Technology. I am also a private clinical supervisor.

Psychotherapy with adults : Psychotherapy provides a safe and confidential space to talk. Psychotherapy can enable renewed understanding of oneself and others and help develop greater care for oneself and others. Through open exploration of concerns, feelings and beliefs, new possibilities can arise such as an increased capacity to recognise limiting and harmful patterns of living and being able to make better choices. Psychotherapy can lead to feeling better generally, to increased independence, to increased self-esteem and confidence, and improved relationships in personal and working life.

Psychotherapy with adolescents : Psychotherapy provides a safe and confidential space to talk and explore concerns, thoughts, and feelings. Psychotherapy can help adolescents make their way through, and better manage, turbulent and complex thoughts and feelings about themselves, friends, others in general. Psychotherapy can help navigate the way through family, school, and college life.

Therapy with adolescents is often one-to-one (individual) but can also involve parents, carers, siblings, and wider family. It is important consider everyone’s voice in deciding what the best support might be.

Psychotherapy with children and their families : Child psychotherapy is sometimes one-to-one (individual) but always involves working in close partnership with parents and carers. Sometimes siblings and wider family participate in the work, sometimes community resources such as school are part of the work. I have years of experience of working alongside health and education agencies and other professions in the field.

I advise you to book a consultation with me in the first instance, so that we can think together about what the best support might be for your child and family.

Clinical supervision : I am a registered, experienced supervisor and available to offer clinical supervision to trainee and qualified Psychotherapists and Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists. I also offer supervision to professionals in the psychiatric services.

Qualifications : Master of Psychotherapy (London University), Post Graduate Diploma in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies (University of East London), Batchelor of Philosophy (Liverpool University)

Fees : I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel your appointment less than 48 hours prior to your session time, payment is still required.
