Richard currently prioritises people wishing to follow the Internal Family Systems approach to therapy.
I like to use modern, user friendly and time effective approaches for helping people transform their lives.
I see people with stress and burnout, anxiety and depression, relationship trouble including couples, personal development, rebuilding life after sexual abuse, eating disorders, physical illness, including cancer, chronic fatigue and pain syndromes like fibromyalgia.
I have explored far and wide within the counselling and psychotherapy field, and been most drawn to the more modern approaches which I find warm, friendly, open and affirming. They focus upon working with peoples’ strengths, to find the best way they can resolve current difficulties, and to help them move forward in their lives.
I worked as a rural GP for some years, before making the transition from medicine to counselling and psychotherapy. I am married with four children who are now young adults. Active interests are summertime sailing and tramping.
The fee for one hour sessions is $180 for individuals and for couples. I usually run a short wait list.
