I am currently unavailable to take new clients.

I provide both in-person and online sessions.

I love working with both individuals who want to explore and address aspects of their life and/or relationships. I work in an unpretentious way. Hurts and distress can be caused by societal influences and injustices as well as by expected and unexpected events. I believe that our tough times can contribute to becoming stronger and wiser. Living in multicultural Auckland, I delight in celebrating and affirming diversity of lifestyle and relationship choices.

Specialisms: Depression, grief and loss, sexual diversity, migration, life changes, relationship dilemmas, stress, anxiety.

I also provide Professional Supervision.

Approaches: I have a broad background in training spanning humanistic client-centered counselling to mental health support and to psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I work organically and fluidly aiming always to meet your uniqueness and the issues you choose to bring.

Experience:

I migrated from Holland to Britain to Canada and finally to Aotearoa/ New Zealand.  My two adult children were raised in Tai Tokerau/Northland.

I have worked for over twenty years as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor.  I have also supervised other clinicians, health professionals and students.

I worked as a therapist for over 10 years with Northland District Health Board, giving me a vast range of clinical experiences in mental health.

Since 1995 I have worked part-time for two established Auckland therapy centres while working in Private Practice. Since 2008 I have been working full time in my private practice.
