I offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples. I provide a space to talk and explore your experiences and concerns in a safe and confidential manner. My aim is to assist people to work through emotional difficulties, improve relationships and develop positive change.
Experience: Several years experience working in mental health, alongside people with long standing mental illness within specialist treatment rehabilitation services. I have also spent time working with students at a tertiary institute and other community agencies. I now work solely in private practice and I am also registered with Employee Assistance Providers (EAP).
Special Interests: I work with a broad range of issues, with both individuals and couples. I specialise in relationship issues, separation, depression, anxiety, stress, identity issues, men’s issues, exercise (and mindful eating), religious issues and organisational/employment issues.
Approach: I work from a psychodynamic psychotherapy base. I also utilise Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and draw on theories of development and attachment. I believe effective psychotherapy needs to be tailored to the individual and address all sources of health.
Professional Memberships: I am a registered Psychotherapist (PBANZ). I am ACC Registered for sensitive claims.
