"No one lives outside the walls of this sacred place, existence."

- Rabia al Basri, 8th century Sufi mystic

Client Types : Adults (18+).

If you are looking for relief from distressing symptoms, if you are seeking to change patterns that have been with you for a long time, if you are wanting to reconnect to a sense of aliveness and joy in life, I will provide a respectful space in which change is possible. At times in our lives our familiar ways of being with ourselves and responding to others just don’t seem to work well for us anymore. Talking to someone outside your circle of family and friends can be enormously valuable and can lead to new and creative ways of being.

Benefits of Psychotherapy include :

  • a renewed sense of satisfaction and purpose in life
  • healthier, happier relationships with others
  • increased joy and ease in navigating life’s challenges
  • living more in accordance with your values
  • a sense of coming home to yourself
  • relief from distressing symptoms

I can help with :

  • depression and anxiety (neurodiverse-friendly practice)
  • pre-natal and post-natal distress
  • relationship and sexuality issues – LGBTQIA+ aligned
  • trauma and grief
  • life transitions such as career changes, divorce and mid-life transitions

Post-natal despression and anxiety : I am experienced in working with pregnant clients and new parents, particularly with people facing the daily challenges of pre-natal and post-natal depression and anxiety and/or the ongoing effects of birth trauma.

Experience and Approach :

  • 15 years in private practice
  • 2.5 years working with clients at a trauma counselling service
  • 2 years as a Psychotherapist in a DHB Maternal Mental Health team.

My training is in Psychosynthesis, which is an holistic psychospiritual psychology that integrates Western depth psychology and Eastern meditative psychology into a comprehensive approach to human growth and development. I have previously worked in resource management planning, community development, and dispute resolution.

I work in a collaborative, relationship-focussed way to provide a therapeutic space in which new ways of being can emerge.
