Client Types : Adults.

About Me : Kia ora, I’m Mandy, a registered psychotherapist who adopts a strengths-based, collaborative approach to help clients move through feelings of anxiety, loneliness, stuckness, or simply just feeling flat.

In my work with clients, I explore how their relationships — past and present — have shaped their sense of self and, ultimately, their life story. Because the stories we tell ourselves were often written by someone else, therapy is a space to rewrite them.

As part of my work, I look at how the relationships in your life impact your sense of aliveness — and whether the connections you keep are expanding your world or quietly shrinking it. By doing so, you can rediscover what it means to feel truly alive in your relationships, and in yourself.

My Approach : I utilise a relational psychodynamic framework, in the therapy we’ll explore old ways of coping or relating that once made sense but may now be getting in the way — allowing feelings, memories, and meanings to surface naturally. Over time, we can start to name and gently deepen your emotional experience to help find relief from difficulties like anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relationship struggles, trauma, and PTSD.

This isn’t about rushing toward answers. It’s about gently deepening your understanding of yourself — your thoughts, feelings, and the patterns that shape your relationships. By doing so, we can interrupt long-held patterns and clarify what you would like to move towards and away from to generate lasting change.

Our Connection : The research shows that good therapy often boils down to the fit between the therapist and client. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to learn a little bit about what you’re facing, what you’re hoping to get from therapy and if I feel I can support you. Following that we’ll do an initial session, this is simply a chance for us to meet and decide together whether we’re a good fit — there’s no pressure or obligation to continue.
