Trauma-Focused Mindful Eating and Mindful Movement

A two-day retreat for women

Are you struggling with disordered eating, feeling isolated or wanting to connect with other women with similar experiences? This group-therapy retreat focuses on mindfulness, eating habits, the mind-body connection, mindful movement and more.

The weekend brings together evidence-based approaches including CBT, Transactional Analysis, DBT, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, mindfulness, mindful eating, Yoga Nidra and somatic movement.

Outcomes

  • Increase emotion regulation, somatic awareness and self-compassion
  • Interrupt patterns and reconnect with food
  • Develop body awareness, stress reduction, grounding and breath awareness
  • Use journalling to explore triggers, process emotions and trauma, challenge negative beliefs, set goals and integrate with therapy

Facilitators

Anna Drijver is an ACC/ISSC-approved registered psychotherapist with extensive training in CBT, MBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, yoga, embodied movement and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. She has treated clients with eating disorders for over 20 years.

Mari-Halina Colbert has completed over 1,000 hours of yoga teacher training and has particular interests in embodied movement, somatics, Yoga Nidra and yoga philosophy. She has studied Trauma Sensitive Yoga and is certified in Somatic Trauma Therapy, while working toward Hakomi Somatic Therapy certification.

ACC funding

  1. Your Lead Provider will need to contact ACC to arrange approval to attend.
  2. Complete the participant sign-up form sent once TheraMAS receives purchase approval.
  3. A facilitator will contact you a few weeks before the group to explain it and answer questions.
